A kidney diet works better when it starts with what you can eat, not with a list of what you cannot.
Please read this first. This page gives general information about food. It does not diagnose anything, it does not monitor your condition, and it does not tell you or your doctor how to treat you. It is not a medical device.
Only tick a restriction if a kidney doctor, nurse or dietitian has already told you to follow it. Blood tests decide these things, not a website. If nobody has told you to cut out potassium, do not cut out potassium: for most people with early kidney disease, fruit and vegetables are good news.
One important exception. If your eGFR is below 30, or you are on dialysis, or you do not know what your most recent potassium result was, speak to your kidney team before you increase the amount of fruit and vegetables you eat on the strength of this page.
Nothing you type here leaves your device. Nothing is saved, sent or stored.
